Doug Sandstrom
Lexcom Tower Co President
Currently serving as President and Chief Operating Officer, Doug Sandstrom brings 25 years of experience in the wireless telecommunications industry with a background in legal and business management. Doug’s career began as an attorney reviewing leases for the tower company Spectrasite in 1999, but soon moved “into the field” working as a site acquisition specialist identifying land parcels for communication tower development
and working with landlords and negotiating leases on behalf of his clients. Doug worked for various site acquisition firms and in-house as a contractor at T-Mobile in their Seattle market where he further honed his skills in network deployment.
As an entrepreneur, Doug formed the original Lexcom Development Company with his business partner Louis Levy in 2011 at the cusp of the LTE roll out by the wireless carriers, where an opportunity of copious amounts of work allowed him to demonstrate his ability to drive growth and innovation in the telecommunications sector.
In 2015 Lexcom was sold to MD7 where Doug took on the role of Vice President advancing small cell technology across the United States. His expertise extended internationally when he was named Vice President of New Site Development for Europe at MD7, managing the expansion of network infrastructure across diverse markets. Doug holds a law degree from the University of Idaho and is licensed to practice law in Oregon. His legal training has provided him with a unique perspective on regulatory and compliance issues within the telecommunications industry, complementing his technical and managerial expertise.
Doug enjoys a variety of personal pursuits. He takes daily visits to the beach in Long Beach, California, where he resides. Doug is an avid 4x4 enthusiast and camper, relishing outdoor adventures and exploring new terrains. He values time spent with his family in his hometown of Portland, Oregon, and embraces opportunities to travel abroad, expanding his horizons and experiencing new cultures.
Yogi Sandstrom
Vice President of New Site Development
A native and current resident of Portland Oregon, Yogi grew up with a strong connection to his community and the outdoors. His journey in higher education began with a football scholarship to Oregon State University, where he pursued his studies and degree in history. Yogi’s dedication, athleticism, and adherence to “teamwork” during his college years laid a foundation for his future career in the telecommunications industry.
Since entering the wireless telecommunications field in 2001, Yogi has built a career marked by diverse roles and achievements. He initially gained experience as a construction manager, where he was responsible for overseeing the construction of new tower development. Later, his role as a site acquisitionist further expanded his expertise, as he navigated the complexities of securing and managing leases for telecommunications networks for various wireless carrier clients. Yogi’s career continued to evolve as he took on project management roles, demonstrating his ability to coordinate and execute projects from inception to completion. In his most recent role, Yogi worked in-house as a contractor for AT&T in Oregon. This position allowed him to leverage his experience in site acquisition and project management to support AT&T’s infrastructure development and optimization efforts. As Vice President of New Site Development at Lexcom Tower, Yogi is responsible for leading the expansion and enhancement of telecommunications infrastructure. His role involves strategic planning, project oversight, and ensuring the successful execution of new site developments to meet the growing demands of the industry. Outside of his professional life, Yogi enjoys a range of personal activities that reflect his love for the outdoors and social gatherings. He is an avid fisherman and camper, often spending time in nature to relax and recharge. Yogi also has a passion for cooking and entertaining, delighting his friends and family with his culinary skills and hosting memorable gatherings.
